CNA Exam Preparation

Goes here

For people that have completed their CNA training, their last step to getting their new job will be their CNA exam. This exam will consist of two parts, the clinical and written sections, both of which are easy to pass for people that have managed to pay enough attention throughout their training programs.

Part of the exam in many places will require the student to bring a “test” subject. This is basically for the examiner to ensure that the capabilities of the candidate are sufficient when dealing with people directly. They will generally ask people to offer their skills and use their common knowledge to perform what is necessary.

CNA exam preparation is certainly not going to be easy, as with any exam the pressure is certainly on to do well. The problem is candidates realize that this is the final step to becoming a qualified CNA, so this could make or break their new career chances. The focus here should be to think about what has been learnt and what parts of this would come up in the exam. As long as the candidate has studied hard, then the exam is actually extremely easy to complete and pass.

A lot of CNA examinations will contain a lot of multiple choice questions. For the most part, these should be straight forward enough and easy to complete. That being said, there might be questions that are difficult and so a thorough knowledge of everything from the training program is essential. Start the process of completing the question by getting rid of the choices that are definitely not correct and then rely on instincts, or knowledge to get the correct answer. Even though a candidate feels like they might not know the answer, they might do subconsciously, so it is worth taking a few minutes to think, even over the potentially impossible questions.

CNA exam preparation for the clinical section of the exam tends to be much harder than the other parts. The fact is that candidates will need to use a “test” subject, which can be hard in its own right. In this part of the exam, they will be asked to show their skills by offering insight into certain problems and scenarios. Remember, the feedback or answer that is given needs to be right, it doesn’t necessarily need to be quick, so take a few minutes to think about it.

Some of the training routes to passing your CNA exam are much better than others. For example, people that managed to get themselves on the ARC or Red Cross training programs are likely to be extremely well equipped for all parts of the exam. These training courses offer an excellent insight into the industry and the job role as a whole.

Another thing that should help with CNA exam preparation is getting involved with online study groups. It might be that there are other candidates in exactly the same position as you are and they also have some questions. Conferring with other students can sometimes bring up some extremely important points, so is a great way to prepare for the upcoming exam, especially if there is a registered nurse on hand as well.

Overall, preparing for your exam and giving yourself the best chance of success is to put in plenty of hard work throughout your studies, and make sure you know as much as possible about all areas of the training and job, this way you will be well prepared, and most likely to successfully pass your CNA exam.
